About Artist Pam Foley
Pam Foley is an artist who lives and works as a sculptor in and around Oxford, UK. She makes abstract figurative art sculptures, paintings and prints.
A sculptor, teacher, workshop facilitator and art organiser, Pam Foley has 30 years of experience in sculpture and ceramics. She has been active in arts communities throughout her adult life.
She makes limited edition abstract figurative sculptures. Her limited edition sculptures are a contemporary synthesis of traditional representations of the human form. Abstraction from the human figure is a consistent theme in her work.
Sculpting primarily in clay or plaster and then casting limited editions in bronze metal, iron or marble resin, she aims to evoke certain emotions and experiences, commonly solitude and sorrow.
Prior to moving to the UK, Pam worked as a potter and ceramicist in San Francisco. In the Bay Area, she taught, had a studio and ran a non-profit women's arts organisation with a gallery. Having moved to the UK in 1999, Pam now works from her studio near Brackley, Northamptonshire.
